PHOTO: Gov. Amosun At First NUJ National Summit

Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, on Tuesday, opened the first Annual National Summit of the Nigerian Union of Journalists held in Abeokuta.

Speaking at the event, which drew attendance from journalists from all the 36 states of the federation, Governor Amosun charged journalists to practice their profession in a manner that enhances unity and development of Nigeria.

The governor emphasised the importance of the media in national development and urged practitioners to be professional in their approach and always seek ways of improving on their trade.

Keynote speaker at the event was the former President Olusegun Obasanjo who was represented by former Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission, NUC, Professor Peter Okebukola.

The 3-day Summit will feature presentation of papers by the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, former Minister of Information, Prince Tony Momoh and several other dignitaries on day two.
On the third day, the visiting journalists will visit the three Senatorial districts of Ogun State for an on the spot assessment of various projects that have been completed by the Governor Amosun administration in Ogun State.
